February Turtle Trot.

Sorry friends I am so late with February's Turtle Trot update. Things have been very hectic at home. I have been helping my sil with her clothes buying and now I am going to teach her to cross stitch.

Here is what I have done for my Turtle projects. Unfortunately all couldnt get started yet.

I finished a row on SK Trick & Treat :-

I also did some work on EMS July Larkspur

Almost finished the border, but lots of blues left and the butterfly also.

Mirabilia Cherub was next on.

A little more progress on HAED QS Hearth of Gold was also seen.

I had a new start in Angie's Fleurs Du Ciel. I am doing it on 18ct 2 strands using Anchor floss.

I also had 3 more new starts as sals for an FB group.

YOTA FEBRUARY - HAED SK TRICK OR TREAT

Its time for the February update of the YOTA SAL.
It should be done on the first Saturday of each month, but I have got late.
Everyone in my home has got the dreaded flu. It was awful.
I finally feel we are getting over it.
I couldnt do much on it in January. I finished another row on the 2nd page.
Here's to a new look :-

February 4 2015 WIPocalypse.

Well can you believe one month has passed in 2015. January is finished and we are in February. It feels like yesterday only we were still celebrating new year.

Another WIPcolaypse is here when the full moon comes. Here in Sri Lanka full moon means holiday. Every full moon has a name and a reason for it.

February full moon is called Navam Full Moon Poya Day.
This full moon celebrates the appointment of Buddha's two chief disciples and the first-ever Buddhist Council held after the passing away of Lord Buddha.

February 4 is also our 67th Independence Day.

Stitching wise I think I did okay after the last check in.
Here are the projects I worked on and made progress. I even had a finish.

First for my finish :-

I made this specially keeping  in mind my mum's patchwork teacher. When my mum gave it to her she loved it. She is a Catholic.

Here are my projects which I tried to make progress on.

HAED SK Trick or Treat..I finished a row on this.

EMS July Larkspur

Mirabilia 2012 Garland Cherub

HAED QS Hearth of Gold

I also had a new start
Angie's Fleurs Du Ciel

I also did some patchwork. There is nothing to show in it as I am just cutting loads of blocks.

This month's topic was

How do you overcome that feeling that you're in a rut with a particular project?

I think I already answered this question above with my two old wips HAED SK Trick or Treat and EMS July Larkspur.

Normally when I get bored or just when I feel a project is not working for me I quit working on it and keep it aside. I probably start a new project. Sometime later probably a hint or a nudge or a sal makes me start it again. I have removed many projects out and hope to work on them and try to finish them this year.

Well thats all for this month. I have a few deadlines I have to finish soon.

Have a beautiful month  everybody.

January HAP SAL Progress

Its time to post my progress on my HAP HAED Old World Map.
Where has the time flown? A month in the new year has gone so fast.
Unfortunately I am ashamed to say I didnt touch my HAED. I was busy stitching on other projects and also I spent a few days doing patchwork. I didnt get enough time in January so I can touch this HAED. I hope I can do something in it in February.

January Check In for 2015 Flower of the Month SAL.

Sorry I am so late posting my check in for the Flower SAL.

Actually I am pretty late posting check ins for all. I have been very sick and still am feeling not too good.

I had decided to do these flowers last year for an FB group and finish them ,but some things came up which made stitching very hard.

I had already finished 3 before I started last year. Then last year I finished another four. This year with this SAL I hope to finish the whole series.

I finished January Carnation the year the gorgeous flowers came out.
Here is what they say about Carnations

Carnations have been traditionally associated with fascination, which is but fitting for the start and freshness of the new year. Its botanical name is Dianthus, which means divine flower. Carnation was the flesh-pink color that Elizabethan portrait painters used as background wash. The red carnation was said to mean "alas for my poor heart", while a striped carnation would mean refusal. If one would give a yellow carnation, it would mean disdain, while a pink one depicts a woman's love.

So I decided to stitch more on my July Larkspur.

Smalls SAL 2015 – January Check-In

I have decided to do the Smalls SAL every month.

I know I am late this month, but I have been very sick. Actually I am still not well at all.

I had started this in December as Carol's 2014 Sew Advent SAL.

I couldnt finish it so decided to complete in January. Compared to my other BAPS this is a small piece for me.

I finished this and completed it into a finish and gave it to my mum's patchwork teacher who loved it alot.

Stitchy mail.

In December I had won twice in the Mystery Kit Contest I took part in World Adventures in Stitching a FB group. I couldnt believe I got so lucky.
Finally I got my prizes.
I cant believe Lori was so kind to send me two different mails.

Here is what I got.

Its a teapot with the printed chart , fabric and floss.

Second kit was

Again fabric and floss included. This time the floss has been bobbinated to make stitching fast and easy for me. The chart is a colour printout.
